“Hot Blues, Cold Brews” at this year’s 13th Annual Untapped Blues Festival. It’s coming Saturday, May 9th, from noon to eleven p.m. Tickets available April 4th. Every year Kennewick hosts this fun and great-tasting festival full of good music and beer. Award winning artists from all over come to play for us. This year we have an excellent line-up. Performing this year are the Latin influenced Delgado Brothers. Magic Slim and the Teardrops will be performing Chicago-style blues. Fan favorite Junkyard Jane will be here as well. We’ll also have the Fat Tones, Miriam’s Well, Wired! Rockabilly Blues Band, the Vaughn Jensen Band, and Roberson, Breese, and Flores. The music is sure to be awesome!

The ticket includes a tasting glass (for the first 3,000 attendees) 11 hours of great music, access to 24 of the USA’s best microbreweries, 6 of the region’s premium wineries, and many more various vendors, such as cigars, food, jewelry, and so forth. That’s a lot for just $25! You can also get your tickets at various outlets such as Ranch and Home, Atomic Ale, Jackson’s, and Ice Harbor Brewery. It’s $30 at the gate. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are purchased with cash. All alcohol drinks are purchased with “scrip tickets” that you buy when you get to the event. Don’t forget, you have to be 21 or older and have valid ID to attend. Sorry kiddos!

Hopefully if you drink you won’t drive home after the event. You should carpool and have a designated driver, but there is always the route 49 bus that goes to the fairgrounds, and the Tri-City Taxi. If you feel that home is just a bit farther than you feel like travelling, Clover Island Inn is offering a special package that includes a shuttle to and from the event, $179 for a double room for a two-night stay that includes two tickets to the event, free admission to the Pre-Festival Kick-Off Party, and a complimentary breakfast. That’s what I call a deal! If you decide to book, you have to mention it’s for the Untapped Blues Festival to get the special rates.

As always, the festival will be held at the Benton County Fairgrounds. So bring your lawn chair, blanket, and cash, and get ready to party!
